I had been having problems since 2004, and I would make short term adjustments and would feel relief, but of course it didn’t last long. The problem was that I was (still am!) a sweet freak! I love anything sweet! Whenever I check out a cookbook, I always go to the dessert section first. I prefer cookies over crackers, mangoes over cabbage, and chocolate over steak! To me, the only thing that makes “sweet” better is when “creamy” is added to it! When I have something sweet AND creamy (full of sugar and dairy), the world disappears for those few moments, but when I’m done with the dessert, my head comes out of the clouds and I realize that I may have some real problems later!
Embracing this healing path required some major changes in my diet. I decided to go with the Attogram program, and it works best with a commitment of 15 months! 15 months with no sugar???!!!! The longest I’ve been without sugar was for a week!
Nevertheless, my health was more important to me than my next creamy sweet treat. So on March 7th, I said “NO” to sugar and “YES” to my health. The adjustments have been difficult at times, but the results are keeping me going. This program really works!
I’m learning that savory foods are just as tasty as sweet foods, and that you need to balance them both. I’m learning to really appreciate the variety there is in food, and I also realized that I always stuck with the same 15-20 foods I was familiar with. Being on this diet has taken me out of my comfort zone, and I’ve included a lot of new things that I would have never tried before.
Still I had to have something sweet, but I needed to stay within my chosen dietary guidelines. So I had to get creative. Luckily, I am no stranger to the kitchen and I was a vegetarian for 15 years, so making things new and improved is actually fun for me.
This site’s main focus is on the food that CAN be made and enjoyed by folks dealing with candida, but I hope others that limit their sugar intake (diabetics, South Beach Diet followers, Sugar Busters converts, No Flour No Sugar devotees,) will find something they like in the recipes too.

I don’t know how I haven’t seen your blog before. This will be a great resource for me!
